Question by ARK: thinking of buying a nokia n900! what do you say?
i lost my old nokia smartphone to a short circuit!, right now i am using a temporary feature phone, i was planning to scrap this and buy a secound hand n900 just because its smarter than this and i heard quite a lot of praises about it! what do u suggest? i did some research and people say it a phone for developers and not for general users? what do u guys say about it?
i am getting the n900 for a very cheap price and i thought i could use it for the time being, instead of buying a feature phone till i buy my next smart phone

before buying a NOKIA N900, you need to realize that it isn’t (only) a phone.
it is in fact a computer in your pocket.
and the operating system of this computer happens to be a Debian based Linux.
if you are just going to use the N900 as a “phone”, even a smart one, you won’t have to bother about… the computer.
it is still an outstanding top of the line mobile phone with most of the ergonomic features you’d expect from a NOKIA.

if however you decide to immerse yourself into Maemo ( http://maemo.org ) you will find a outstanding community which developed many applications (wel, a few hundreds, but they cover most needs… for free
