The tablet market could top 125 million units shipped in 2012, led by Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad and tablets based on Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android Microsoft’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows 8 operating systems.

Apple was the top smartphone vendor in the United States last quarter according to new data released on Monday.
